Blessings for the Thanksgiving Holiday

Michael Erickson offers his blessings for the Thanksgiving holiday in a letter written to a friend.

I want to wish you and your family the fullness of blessings for the Thanksgiving holiday. We are able at this time not only to reconnect with our family and friends, but also to give thought to the many blessings which God has bestowed upon the American people. We are a blessed people, the Israel of the New Jerusalem. With this gift comes the grand responsibility of being a good and righteous people. We may pray in thanksgiving that we have such a noble task in store for us, as it is in encountering the great struggles of our time that we may know the real comfort of divine grace working in and through the elect in Christ Jesus.

I received your voicemail the other day but was unable to return your call in time. I am happy to learn that you have received the gift. I shall call you back after this Thanksgiving holiday, in the hope that we may catch up on matters.

Until then, please know that you are in our thoughts at this time. Sharon also conveys her good tidings for this season.
