Tyson Foods Replaces Labor Day with Muslim Eid al-Fitr

Food workers at the Shelbyville, Tennessee plant for Tyson Foods, which boasts on its corporate website that it strives "to honor God," will have time off for Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim holy day closing off the month of Ramadan, rather than the very traditional, American Labor Day. Republicans for the National Interest strongly opposes such corporate coddling of an unassimilated labor pool and sees this move as just one more indication of the willingness of too many "American" corporations to denigrate our national culture for the bottom line. Tennessee GOP claims Martin Luther King, Jr. as a member

Forty years after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. on a balcony of the Loraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, the Tennessee Republican Party has set out to honor his memory by declaring him to be a "member" of their party. A press release issued by the Tennessee GOP declares in part that he grew up "in a Republican household," and the State GOP Chairman remarks: "Dr. King...and his fellow Republicans passed civil rights legislation over the objections of many Democrats of that era." The state has acted where the feds would not

The Tennessee General Assembly rescinds a previous policy of handing out "drivers' certificates" to illegal aliens. They recognize that the previous scheme simply gives illegal aliens a greater incentive to go to Tennessee, in the hopes of getting some sort of authenticating documentation. Click here for more.
